Accommodation
Stay in a charming, fully self-contained 2-bedroom first-floor apartment with spa.

About This Space

Parattah is a small village nestled in the Oatlands region of Tasmania’s Southern Midlands. Just five minutes from Oatlands, this peaceful rural setting offers a surprising sight — the striking Tudor-style Parattah Railway Hotel, rising unexpectedly from the pastoral landscape behind the historic railway station.

Your accommodation is the first-floor apartment in the northern wing of this remarkable building. It comfortably sleeps four guests and features two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchenette, and a spa bathroom — perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring.

This is a truly unique place with character, history, and a style all its own.

There are two separate double bedrooms:

  • West-facing room: Separated by bi-fold doors that open into the lounge area. This room includes a desk and dressing table, making it ideal for those who may need a workspace.

  • East-facing room: A spacious and private retreat with soft morning light.

The apartment is naturally bright, but we've fitted blinds and block-out curtains to ensure your comfort day and night.

The Space

From the 1800s to the mid-1900s, the Parattah Railway Hotel served travellers journeying between Hobart and Launceston by rail. This magnificent piece of Tasmanian history is now our home. We've lovingly restored the northern upstairs wing — once the manager’s quarters — into a self-contained guest apartment.

The apartment is located in the oldest part of the building, constructed in the 1850s before the Tudor-style extension was added. It features a fully equipped kitchen and a spa bathroom, offering both comfort and heritage charm.

The kitchenette, located at the northern end of the apartment, enjoys a sunny aspect and is fully equipped with:

  • Small fridge

  • Compact oven and cooktop

  • Electric frypan

  • Breakfast essentials for your first morning
